Mr. Jun Kim

Dance Teacher, Choreographer

Rooted in Community, Driven by Competition, Inspired by Art

Mr. Jun Kim discovered his passion for hip-hop dance at the age of 12, beginning his training in local studio classes. By 16, he had joined the youth dance team Poise’n Brigade, under the direction of Alee Martinez and Stuck Sanders. There, he developed his foundation in tutting, breakdancing, popping, and feminine styles, while also gaining extensive experience in competitive dance.

As a member of Poise’n Brigade, Mr. Kim performed in signature productions such as the annual Halloween and Nutcracker shows and competed in high-profile events like Body Rock Juniors. His dedication and talent led him to join New Age Theatrics, champions of World of Dance in both 2024 and 2025. Directed by Francis and Erika Tyrell, the company has provided Jun with opportunities to train at a global level and perform at prestigious events including Body Rock, World of Dance, and the Transitions showcase.

In addition to performing, Mr. Kim is an enthusiastic educator. He currently teaches beginner hip-hop to children every Monday as part of the faculty at Rise Performing Arts Center. He has also trained with The Room by Kolanie Marks, an elite, industry-level dance program known for its rigorous training and professional development.

Mr. Kim’s contributions extend into the academic dance community as well. He has served as a teacher and director for Los Altos High School’s annual dance show, sharing his knowledge and inspiring the next generation of dancers.
