The FDS Competitive Xcel Program is an invitation-only program for dedicated gymnasts who are ready to advance beyond recreational gymnastics and experience the excitement of competitive gymnastics.

Our mission is to develop confident, technically strong, and well-rounded athletes in a positive, supportive, and family-centered environment. Through quality coaching, individualized attention, and progressive training, gymnasts build advanced skills while developing discipline, perseverance, responsibility, teamwork, and self-confidence.

Whether an athlete dreams of earning medals, qualifying for State Championships, or simply challenging themselves through competition, the FDS Xcel Program provides an exciting pathway for continued growth.

Xcel Bronze

Training Schedule

Tuesdays & Thursdays 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM

The Bronze Team is designed for gymnasts who have demonstrated strong recreational skills and are ready to begin their competitive gymnastics journey.

Athletes continue developing strength, flexibility, and confidence while learning official USA Gymnastics Xcel routines on all four events:

Vault
Uneven Bars
Balance Beam
Floor Exercise

Xcel Silver

Training Schedule

Tuesdays & Thursdays 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM

The Silver Team is designed for gymnasts who have mastered Bronze-level fundamentals and are ready for more advanced skills and competition.

Training focuses on:

Advanced technical development
Strong execution and presentation
Routine consistency
Increased strength and flexibility
Competition readiness
Leadership and teamwork

Competition Season

The FDS Xcel Program provides athletes with a rewarding competitive experience while emphasizing personal growth, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Each competitive season includes:

1 FDS Pre-Competition Showcase – An opportunity for gymnasts to perform their routines for family and friends before entering their first competition.
2 Required USA Gymnastics Xcel Competitions – All team members are expected to participate in two sanctioned competitions during the season.
USA Gymnastics Xcel State Championships – Gymnasts who achieve the required qualifying scores will have the opportunity to compete at the State Championships.

Competition provides athletes with valuable experience, builds confidence, encourages goal setting, and celebrates each gymnast's progress throughout the season.

Invitation Only

Enrollment in the FDS Competitive Xcel Program is by invitation only.

Gymnasts are evaluated throughout the year based on:

Technical ability
Strength and flexibility
Coachability
Focus and work ethic
Attendance
Readiness for competitive gymnastics

Families of selected athletes will receive an official invitation with complete program information, registration instructions, and season expectations.

Team Membership Fee

In addition to the annual Fantasy Dance School Registration Fee, all Xcel Team members are required to pay a $175 annual Xcel Team Membership Fee.

This fee helps support the administration and operation of the competitive program, including:

Competition registration processing
Program planning and administration
Athlete evaluations
Team communications
Coaches' administrative expenses
Other competitive program operating costs

Please note: The Team Membership Fee does not include monthly tuition, USA Gymnastics athlete membership, competition entry fees, competition apparel, travel expenses, or other competition-related costs.

Please Note

Upon acceptance into the FDS Xcel Program, families will receive the FDS Xcel Team Agreement, which outlines program expectations, attendance requirements, financial responsibilities, competition participation, and additional competition-related fees, including USA Gymnastics athlete membership, competition entry fees, required team apparel, and other seasonal expenses.

Athletes begin by enrolling in our Recreational Gymnastics Program or, when appropriate, receiving a coach invitation to our Pre-Team Program.
