Dance Teacher, Choreographer
Ms. Silvia was born in Italy and lived there until December 2021.
She began in a ballet school in Bari (her hometown): “Studio Danza” at the age of 5 when she discovered she had a flat feet problem, and the doctor suggested starting dance classes.
Immediately, Ms. Silvia’s teacher noticed her great potential as a dancer and pushed her a lot on this route. She studied very deeply classical ballet, and she started winning many Italian competitions. She spent 2 years in Florence with “Scuola del Balletto di Toscana”, where she learned more about contemporary and jazz-modern dance.
During her dance career, she had many intensive courses, one of the most important was in New York in the Summer of 2009: “The Ailey Studios” and “Broadway Dance Center”.
Moreover, she graduated with merit from the “Royal Academy of Dance” in London, and in the meantime, she studied the Vaganova Method with teachers from the Tirana Academy in Albania: this allowed her to have an all-round classical ballet education.
At the age of 18, Ms. Silvia was the main soloist dancer in a small contemporary-ballet dance company (“Jakovits Ballet”) in Bari, Italy.
At the age of 20, she did a big life decision to put aside dancing and start university. She obtained her Master’s Degree in Mechatronic Engineering at Politecnico di Torino, Italy, and worked as a Project Engineer for 5 years.
In December 2021, she moved to the USA with her husband and started dancing and teaching again. Now she has this great opportunity to share her dance knowledge and deep passion with Fantasy Dance School students.
Ms. Silvia is very glad to join the FDS team and she can’t wait to spread her way of thinking: “You must be rigorous, concentrated, persist in your objectives. Perfection does not exist! But you can have a smart-trained mind and a free soul and you can do what you dream of.”
