Fantasy Dance School Plans:

The following outlines the new measures Fantasy Dance School plans to implement upon the reopening of the Studios and the Gym to minimize the spread of COVID-19, protect its staff, provide a safe space for its community, and streamline operations.

HEALTH, SAFETY, AND CLEANING

  • Provide PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for employees.

  • Institute masks on Covid 2021-2022 Policy for all FDS staff, students, and parents.

    • All staff, faculty, and school personnel: Masks are required to be worn at all times.

    • Students ages 2 - 5: Face masks are not required (although encouraged) when they are interacting solely with students during class; however, face masks must be worn when transitioning in, out, and throughout the dance studio.

    • Students ages 6 and older: Masks are required to be worn at all times in the dance studio.

  • Close communal spaces.

    • There will be no open areas at this time to fill water bottles, change clothes, or store or prepare food (microwave or refrigerator). Students will be required to bring their own water bottle. There will be individualized and designated spaces for each student to store their bags and water bottle. This area will also be sanitized before and after each class.

  • Discontinue the use of changing areas.

  • Limit the use of props for classes.

    • If any props are needed for class, props will be thoroughly sanitized at the beginning and end of class.

  • Increase our daily deep cleaning/disinfection of the FDS.

    • All FDS staff will be trained on deep/disinfection procedures that MUST occur before and in between all classes.

  • Increase fresh air circulation through the doors and rolling gates.

  • Require health and safety training for all staff.

    • All FDS staff will be required to go through health and safety training specifically regarding COVID-19 procedures before classes resume in session.

ENTERING AND EXITING THE FDS

  • Limit entry through the door to one person at a time.

  • Create a system for contactless.

  • Designate timed entry windows for all classes.

    • Lines will be lined and created (with 6 feet apart) at the entrance of the school for students to wait as we will check-in students one at a time. Temperatures will be checked as well as a verbal questionnaire to check for any symptoms. If any symptoms are observed that align with COVID-19, the student will need to go home until there is a clearance from a doctor.

  • Require that all students be dropped off at the door if accompanied by an adult.

  • Designate single-directional pathways marked throughout the FDS.

  • Designate timed exits and designated exit locations for all classes.

POLICIES AND PROTOCOLS

  • Require accounts to pay for classes online only.

  • Require students to arrive dressed for class.

    • All changing areas will be closed for the time being, requiring that every student arrives to the school in their dance or gymnastics attire. There will be no changing of clothes before, during, or after classes.

  • Designate areas for students within studios that maintain the spacing of at least 6 feet apart.

  • Limit the number of employees in the studio and Gym in accordance with CA State reopening guidelines.

  • Limit the number of students in classes in accordance with CA State reopening guidelines.

    • To ensure that the maintenance of spacing required between students is kept, the number of students able to attend in-person classes will be limited when enrolling. Online classes will still be offered via Zoom where the in-person class will be held.

  • Install video equipment in select studios to allow for classes to be conducted virtually at the same time as in-person classes.

  • Limit access to the Dance School and the GYM to only essential personnel and students.

    • At this time, no parents will be allowed in the inside the school at all. If communication is needed with staff, all communication will be held via phone or email.

    • Parking will also only be limited to FDS staff at this time. A drop off / pick up procedure will be in place as no cars will be allowed to park.

  • Stagger hours/shifts/workdays.

  • Post-Safety Guidelines, which define the expectations of students and parents with regard to minimizing the risk of transmission of COVID-19.

  • Provide a method for anonymous reporting of behavior and conduct that does not align with or support our values as a means of accountability to staff and FDS community members.

The health and well-being of our students and our community are our top priorities. Therefore, we are planning to implement new measures upon the reopening of the FDS to minimize the spread  of  COVID-19,

protect our faculty and staff and provide a safe space for our community. If you have any questions on our path to reopening, please contact us:
