FDSchool Policies for 2021-2022

Email is FDS’s primary source of communication and is used to keep accounts informed and up to date on regular school happenings. Please add info@fantasydance.us to your list of contacts ASAP to ensure you receive important school information that will be sent via email after registration. FDS Facebook and Instagram Sites are also used to communicate important information to our dance families. Please take a moment to connect with FDS social media accounts, Fantasy Dance School on Facebook and Instagram.

All accounts must maintain an active credit card on file. Cards on file will be charged on the first of each month for account balances owed. Cards on file will not be charged if the account balance is paid prior to the first day of the month via cash or check.

If you wish to pay a balance in advance, you may log on to your online account to do so at any time.

  •  New Family Registration Fee: $60 per student or $100 per family

  •  Continuing Family Registration Fee: $40 per student or $70 per family

The registration fee covers the cost of insurance and processing fees for all programs. This fee is a NON-REFUNDABLE PAYMENT. All Registration is online, and a current CREDIT CARD MUST BE ON FILE.

Note: FDS must receive a completed registration form, registration fee, and the first month's tuition before your child's enrollment into any of our programs.

  • Tuition is due by the 1st of each month and considered past due after the 10th.

  • FDS runs on a calendar month, which means that the tuition remains the same whether there are 3, 4, or 5 classes in that month.

  • Tuition is divided into 11 equal payments (Mid-August to Mid-June) for your convenience, regardless of the number of weeks in a month, missed lessons, school closings, or school vacations.

10% Discount for additional Siblings/Parents. To apply the tuition discount for an additional Sibling/Parent, the new student must have equal (or fewer classes) per week than the first student.

  • Performance Fee: $120 charged per family, and due with October 2021 tuition *includes 2 admission tickets, pictures, and video of the FDS’s end of the year performance in digital format.

  • Costume Fee per Costume: Costume Fee due January 10th, 2022.

~ New costumes cost between $75 - $95 per costume.

~ Used costumes cost between $35 - $75 per costume.

~ All handmade costumes (folk dances costumes) are returnable and have a usage fee between $30 - $50 per costume.

School Withdrawal: To withdraw a student from a class or enrollment altogether, an email request 25-Day Written: "Drop Class Notice" must be sent to info@fantasydance.us by the 25th of the month in order for tuition not to be charged the following month. Tuition refunds will not be given after tuition is paid. Families may withdraw from classes or the school at any time during the dance year. *Yet should be mindful of non-refundable tuition and fees.

Refunds: There are no refunds for registration fees, tuition, costume fees, or performance fees FOR ANY REASON. All payments are NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE. There are no tuition reductions for students that go out of town or become ill.

Late Payments: Late accounts will receive a notice via email and a ten-day grace period prior to being charged a late fee. If the account is not brought to a zero balance after ten days, a $30 late fee or 5% finance charge (whichever is greater) will be assessed, and the service of classes will be discontinued until the account balance is paid in full. Accounts that carry a balance 60 days past due will be inactivated and sent to collections.

Make-up Policy: There are NO MAKE-UP classes for missed classes. No refunds will be issued for missed classes for any reason. It is imperative to your child's success that this program is viewed as a serious commitment.

Late Pick-up Fee: If a student is not picked up within 15 minutes of their last class, a $15 late pick-up fee will be assessed, followed by an additional $5 for every 5 minutes after. Since FDS’s lobby will remain closed during California’s Orange and Yellow Risk Levels, it will be critical to upholding this policy to maintain the safety of our dancers.

Privacy and Confidentiality: Each account must list one parent or legal guardian over the age of 18 as the financially responsible party and primary contact for all student communication. The School will not release payment history, attendance records, or other student information to a third party without permission from the responsible party.

FDS also reserves the right to deliver classes through an online platform in the event they cannot be conducted live for any reason, but not limited to teacher absence or COVID – 19 government advisory.

Class Size

The average class size (6 years old and up) has 10-16 students, and (3-5 years old) has 8-12 students. We must have a minimum of 8 registered students in order to hold a class!

Class Levels: If your student has experience, but you are unsure of his/her level, please give us a call to schedule a tryout class. If a teacher determines that a student is at an incorrect level at the start of the session, the student may be transferred to the appropriate class at that time.

Attendance Policy

Our classes run from August-December for the Fall session and January-June for the Spring session. To best support your child's training, CONSISTENT ATTENDANCE IS REQUIRED.

If your child has a planned absence, written documentation must be emailed to info@fantasydance.us prior to the event.

For their safety, your child will not be able to participate in class if they arrive more than 15 minutes late. They must observe the class and take notes. This will be strictly enforced.

Rehearsal Policy

* For all performing classes:

It is your responsibility to be aware of all rehearsals your dancer needs to be. FDS sends out multiple emails regarding scheduling for rehearsals. Your student will be expected to be present at all rehearsals their classes are called for. If you miss 2 or more rehearsals, you risk being taken out of the performance. This decision will be according to Artistic Director/ Teacher discretion. If you know you will be absent for one or more rehearsals, please coordinate with the office as soon as possible.

Private Conference

If you have questions or comments, please call us at any time at (650) 965-4135.

If any parent/student wishes a private conference to discuss student's progress please do not hesitate to ask.

We are happy to work with you to ensure that your school year will be one of pleasure and growth.
