Wedding Dance First Dance
|
 |
|
|
Your First Dance is an expression of love, tenderness and commitment that will be
cherished long after the wedding bells stop ringing. So, give your friends and family
an elegant performance to remember, and start off your wedding celebration and your
dancing future on the right foot. Keep in mind that while impressing guests may
be your primary goal, you will want to comfortably enjoy all the dancing on your
wedding day. With some basic instruction (and practice), you'll be able to lead
and follow to a variety of essential dance styles, as well as improvise when the
occasion arises. Our instruction begins with a simple, solid foundation in the fundamentals,
leading to a customized routine for your first or last dance. Routine may sound
intimidating, but once you've gained confidence on the dance floor, the start and
finish will be the only challenges. The middle will take care of itself.

Ballet

Ballet ...the foundation of dance:
Classical ballet is a great foundation for most styles of dance as it puts great
emphasis on the method and execution of movement. Students learn body placement
as well as grace and movement that carry through to the other styles of dance.
Grace and style are gained from this foundation as well as ballet foot, hands
and body positions and then combinations, turns and leaps. The foundation of
Classical Ballet consists of five basic positions and students are required
to learn the names, meanings and the precise technique of each movement. Emphasis
is put on building strength in the lower body, particularly the legs, and it focuses
on technique, strength, and flexibility.
In our studio ballet is used for worm-up routines at the beginning of each class regardless of the dance style.

Jazz
|
 |
|
|
JAZZ: Jazz classes always begin with an aerobic, age-appropriate
warm-up, including stretches and some conditioning elements, followed by progressions
across the floor and finishing with a combination that incorporates skills practiced
during warm-up and across the floor. Students learn many different genres of jazz
dance, including musical theater, swing, funk and even a little bit of hip hop.

Hip – Hop
|
 |
|
|
HIP – HOP: is one of the brightest and popular dance styles. It
is a blend of today's high energy "street style" movement. Typically performed
to "popular rap music," this style of dance has been very sought after
by teens, preteens and the "young at heart." The style boasts that everyone
is capable of taking part and having fun! Sometimes percussive and other times it
incorporates "house or club" dancing, making Hip Hop the latest dance
phenomenon. Have you seen the movie “Honey” or “You got served”? This is what street
dance is all about! It’s the energy, special techniques and fun.
